POSITION DESCRIPTION  

Currently, HGL has a position open for a GIS Specialist II to support the St. Louis Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) project in St. Louis, Missouri.  The GIS responsibilities will include ensuring environmental investigation, remediation and construction data and information are managed properly. The position will also require performing daily data entry and analysis tasks. Qualified applicants will be expected to have a strong technical proficiency using ArcGIS Pro 3.0 or similar software package(s) to generate presentation quality maps and figures.

 

Responsibilities/Duties

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING   

The person hired for this role will be responsible for:

  • Using geospatial analysis to create maps, report figures, and presentation materials in a team environment to support the Federal Government at the St. Louis FUSRAP project.
  • Candidate will utilize GIS to support environmental remediation efforts at radiologically contaminated sites, facilities, and installations.
  • Projects will include mapping radiological contaminants, known utilities, ground elevations and sampling data to support the St. Louis FUSRAP project.
  • Other projects will include supporting the St. Louis FUSRAP project, mapping sample locations, remedial excavation areas, creating surfaces and performing volume calculations and supporting FUSRAP project staff with GIS derived products.
  • Support other project-related surveying and mapping efforts. 

 

Required Skills

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL 

The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Science or a related academic field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of directly related experience.
  • Computer proficiency using ArcGIS Pro 3.0 or similar software package(s) and MS Office in a MS Windows OS required.
  • Must be able to effectively create, edit, query, and manage geospatial data in an enterprise class geospatial database (SDE).
  • Must be able to work in a production environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Effective oral and written communication, presentation skills, and the ability to complete projects independently and / or in small teams. 
  • Attention to detail and quality required. 

 

Preferred Skills

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT – Preferred, not required

  • Process LiDAR point cloud and photogrammetry data.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

The work schedule for this position and project is 7:00am-5:30pm, Monday-Thursday.

The salary range for this position ranges from $57,432-$$83,276. This position's final salary can be impacted by various factors including, but not limited to, contractual requirements, geographic location, job-related education, training, experience, and skills.
