Job Responsibilities

Creates, edits, and maintains geospatial data to be used by internal staff and external customers. Utilizes GIS software editing tools to create and manipulate geospatial feature classes and datasets. Conducts mapping research using various records, maps, tables, databases, plans and reports to resolve conflicting information and ensures the accuracy of the data.

Creates hardcopy, digital and web maps from GIS data for internal and external use. Determines map content and layout, and production specification such as scale, size, projection and colors. Maintains and updates maps as appropriate.

Assists with deploying and training staff to use desktop, web, and mobile applications that leverage spatial data and GIS technology. Provides technical assistance to users. Responds to and fulfills data and map requests. Provides data to or reviews data products from vendors. Performs basic spatial data queries and analyses. Β Handles data entry, import, and export. Performs quality assurance checking on data. Prepares metadata and other documentation. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

An associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant work experience; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of relevant work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.

The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
