Position Description:


Manages and maintains data related to GIS in support of Proposed Project definitions and analysis, including Indoors Information Model (IIM), develops GIS web applications and dashboards.QAQC of data for existing/proposed facilities and infrastructure. Build CADD standards compliance review, support as-built/O&M data delivery at closeout.


Essential Job Duties



  • Specialist in GIS ARC Maps and GIS ARC Pro.

  • Maintain and update boundary information, schedule data, and construction closures in the CALM geodatabase for all projects within the CTA and LAWA Coordination area for public right of ways.

  • Addition of new entries to the CALM geodatabase, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data for all Capital Improvement Programs.

  • Contribute to GIS system development, collaborating with developers to expand and enhance system capabilities.

  • Conduct GIS data conversion and ongoing maintenance, integrating new project data into CALM's geospatial resources.

  • Manage all mapping requests for the TDG and CALM teams, including daily and weekly maps such as Roadway Construction Impacts, Integrated Program Lookahead maps, and LAWA Coordination Area and Detour maps.

  • Oversee the update of layers, symbology, and labeling on both Daily and Weekly Roadway maps, ensuring clarity and alignment with project needs.

  • Process LIRs for the CALM team and prepare shapefiles and PDFs of current and future LIRs for weekly uploads to Navigate LA.

  • Manage data updates for program-level construction projects, including the Master Coordination Schedule, CALM Dashboard, and Histogram to ensure accessible, current project information.

  • Background in GIS, aviation and civil construction.

  • Experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS software products.

  • Experience using AutoCAD and converting data from CAD to GIS databases.

  • Experience working with Enterprise level geospatial data.

  • Proficient in Adobe software namely Acrobat and InDesign.

  • Able to review and edit documents in Bluebeam.

  • Works well under pressure, thinks critically, and adapts well to various working environments.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex, technical issues to a non-technical audience.

  • Proficiency with MS Office software including SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Publisher, Access and PowerPoint.

  • The candidate shall pass the federal background check and LAWA Badge is required.

Requirements

Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications



  • 10 years or more of experience in ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online / Enterprise, including indoor mapping and spatial and network analysis. Experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript, and C++ programming languages


Education/Training



  • Master's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in Geography, Urban Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

This position offers a hybrid/telework schedule. Telework - Monday and Friday. Onsite - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
