DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Geospatial Analyst, you will utilize Esri ArcGSI and other GIS technologies to address routine and emergent business needs of PEMA. Assignments will involve designing and creating maps, charts, surveys and applications through the use of ArcPro and cloud-based GIS software. You will have the opportunity to participate in the development and maintenance of PEMA’s Strategic Plan.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Geospatial Specialist 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • Two years of technical experience utilizing geospatial programs to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, maintain and present geospatial data; and an associate’s degree in geographic information systems, geography, geospatial technology, cartography, computer science, natural science, or related STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), including or supplemented by six (6) credits in geospatial coursework; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes or is supplemented by six (6) credits in geospatial coursework.
