- Knowledge of NG911 technology.
- Knowledge in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
- Knowledge of the operations and technology of the E-911 system to include federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of telephone systems, data bases, and peripheral telephone equipment used in E-911.
- Knowledge of Insurance Services Office (ISO) requirements for public safety communications centers.
- Knowledge of the principles of geographic information science and GIS technology.
- Knowledge of the principles of data entry, including heads-up digitizing of data from aerial photography.
- Knowledge of the incident command system and national incident management system.
- Knowledge of record keeping methods, practices and procedures.
- Skilled in effectively directing a staff comprised of professionals; and management responsibility for carrying out emergency preparedness exercises, disaster planning, disaster response and recovery operations, and enforcing compliance with established public safety policies and procedures.
- Skilled in the use of GIS software, particularly ArcGIS.
- Strong capability of spatial analysis and cartographic skills.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with public.

Work is primarily performed indoors but requires some exposure to environmental changes (e.g., outdoor weather and/or field conditions, etc.) or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights and/or dust.
